Shay and Michi began their musical journey as children. Michi was adopted from South Korea. When she was four, her adoptive dad lost his life in a boating accident. When her adoptive mother could not raise Michi, she came to live with her dad's mother in Mississippi. Not long after arriving they realized she was destined to sing. Learning how to sing in English before speaking the language, Michi caught the ear of Country Music Legend, Tom T. Hall and traveled to Nashville for her first gospel recording. Michi continued traveling and singing in churches and other events and eventually found a friend who did the same with his family gospel group. Shay started playing drums with his grandfather's quartet when he was 11. It wasn't long before he fell in love with writing songs and singing. Learning to play several instruments as a teenager and cutting various songs he had written; it wasn't long before Shay and Michi joined their talents. The two were married shortly after high school and together, share a long list of accomplishments. In 2011, they advanced past two rounds of auditions with NBC's The Voice. Shay is credited with winning 2nd place in 2009 Nashville Songwriter's Festival Inspirational Songwriter. He has had two #1 Songs charted on Radio Music Groups Top 100 Chart and various artists have recorded songs he's written.
The two travel regionally with Southern Gospel QT Southern Image. They also appear with local classic country band - Country Fried Sushi.
